I set out for Interlaken in the morning after having a conversation with a very nice couple from Australia. This chance meeting has an interesting story behind it, that I will share at a later time, and has lent to many delightful correspondences over the last four years. The countryside of green pastures with cows lazily eating grass, showed me a picture that was different than the one I had envisioned Switzerland to be. The town of Interlaken sits between the turquoise waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Interlaken is a place for the adventurer, and as adventurous as I am, an offer to go paragliding was swiftly turned down. I boarded the train again, one stop away to Wilderswil and Edelweiss Lodge. https://www.edelweisswengen.ch/
Unbeknownst to me at the time, the lodge sits below a view of Jungfrau, the 13,642 feet mountain in the Alps. I dropped off my bags and headed back to the station to purchase a ticket for a scenic train ride, suggested by the lodge. https://www.jungfrau.ch I had no idea what I was about to see.

For the next hour and a half I was on the top of the world; walking around looking at the amazing views from the side of a mountain. As the train descended the mountain the moments just experienced filled my thoughts. That evening I ate schnitzel, enjoying the moment, with the view Jungfrau in the backdrop.
